We at Divar are looking for a lawyer who can excel in both the litigation domain, handling the company’s legal cases, and also has a strong background in devising and implementing content policy strategies on our platform. Responsibilities
Content Policy Affairs
- Drafting and continuously updating content policies (acceptable vs. prohibited content, privacy protection, prevention of hate speech, etc.).
- Monitoring the enforcement of these policies across the platform and collaborating with relevant teams to identify and resolve any legal compliance issues.
- Educating users and employees on the importance of adhering to content policies (conducting workshops, preparing guidelines, etc.).
- Reviewing and responding to complaints and reports of policy violations, coordinating with relevant authorities, and outlining corrective measures.
- Anticipating legal risks associated with published content and offering effective management solutions.
Litigation
- Filing and pursuing legal and criminal cases related to Divar and its subsidiaries, and representing them effectively in judicial and law enforcement bodies.
- Defending Divar’s rights and interests in various legal disputes (legal risks, cybercrimes, etc.).
- Drafting and preparing legal documents, including pleadings, petitions, complaints, and notices.
- Collecting and interpreting case precedents and past rulings to provide strategic legal counsel.
- Staying current with evolving laws and regulations in the e-commerce sector, and collaborating with internal teams to update and refine procedures.
- Participating in negotiations with third parties (users, contractors, landlords, etc.) to resolve disputes amicably.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid license to practice law.
- A Master’s degree in Law (preferably from top-tier universities) in areas such as Intellectual Property Law, E-Commerce Law, Private Law, Criminal Law, Criminology, or International Commercial Law.
- At least three years of experience in managing and conducting legal and criminal proceedings related to online business environments.
- Willingness to travel and handle cases in various cities as needed (full-time).
- Familiarity with the startup ecosystem and core principles of e-commerce.
Essential Skils
- Expertise in foundational laws (Civil Code, Commercial Code, Civil & Criminal Procedure, Islamic Penal Code, etc.) as well as specialized laws on e-commerce and intellectual property.
- Ability to prepare and draft a wide range of legal documents (lawsuits, complaints) and strong writing and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, coupled with the ability to persuade and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Capacity for thorough legal research (reviewing statutes, judicial precedents, advisory opinions, etc.).
- Intermediate proficiency in English for research purposes and analyzing similar cases in international jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Workspace (Docs and Sheets), along with the ability to manage and organize documents effectively.
- A relentless drive to follow up on tasks, combined with creativity in delivering effective solutions.
- Strong teamwork, meticulous planning, and time management skills, with an emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
