IT Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Specialist to provide first and second-level technical support for our internal teams across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral issues, managing user accounts and permissions, and ensuring seamless operation of IT systems. The IT Support Specialist will handle helpdesk tickets and collaborate closely with infrastructure and security teams to resolve complex technical problems. Additionally, the role involves configuring and supporting VPN access, documenting IT procedures, and contributing to employee onboarding and internal IT training.

The ideal candidate possesses strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with Active Directory and ticketing systems, and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals. Familiarity with Google Workspace, basic scripting, monitoring tools, and networking equipment such as Mikrotik or Cisco devices is a plus. This position requires excellent communication, multitasking abilities, and a high level of ownership in delivering reliable IT support.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to internal users across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral issues including printers, scanners, docking stations, and projectors
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights via Active Directory and other identity management tools
  • Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely and professional manner using tools like Jira.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and common applications
  • Document known issues, resolutions, and IT procedures in internal knowledge bases
  • Collaborate with the infrastructure and security teams to escalate and resolve advanced technical problems
  • Set up and manage VPN access for remote employees (OpenVPN, L2TP, IPSec, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and contribute to internal IT training and onboarding
  • Monitor IT assets and maintain accurate hardware/software inventories

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of Windows & Linux OS & MacOS environments
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and basic networking concepts (Network+ level)
  • Hands-on experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, operating systems, printers, and network connectivity
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot VPN connections and basic remote access tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for supporting both technical and non-technical users
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and attention to detail

Great to Have

 

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+ / Network+, MCSE, or MTCNA
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace
  • Basic scripting in PowerShell or Bash
  • Knowledge of Zabbix, Grafana, or other monitoring tools
  • Experience with Mikrotik routers and basic Cisco switch configuration (CCNA level)
  • Awareness of cybersecurity best practices for endpoint protection
